Day 15- Run Forest Run!

We have successfully found a park to run in! Parc La Torse is Aix-en-Provence’s hidden gem. About a half mile long, filled with dirt paths, shade and other runners. This is where I belong. The park is about a half mile from our apartment but the walk is a nice warm up. When we found one of the hidden entrances I felt as though I had just walked into my running Narnia. My eyes lit up, I could feel the smile spill across my face, and instantly I said “I’ll never run anywhere else” as if I was vowing to marry the park, it was love at first sight.
After a sweaty hard run, we had delicious breakfast crepes, It makes more sense to me now why they do croissants for breakfast here, the French haven’t exactly perfected eggs yet, and don’t know what bacon is. But I am not sure why I am complaining because the croissants are really tasty.
Again class was in a café; it is hard to not be excited to be in class when we do so many different things. Also having class with just Jill, myself, and 2 other girls is such a breath of fresh air as we are all excited to be present.
We ended our writing to go to our schools vernissage. A vernissage is a fancy French was of saying an Expo, where previous students will show off their work. The vernissage we went to was for paintings. My classmates and walked around in awe,. We couldn’t believe the paintings, we kept saying to each other “how do all of those tiny strokes make something so beautiful”? We joked about how much we would mess up, and how ours would look like finger paintings. I fell in love with the idea of a vernissage when a few of the artists grabbed their guitars and started to have a mini jam session in the corner.  Instantly the room came alive and it wasn’t just paintings anymore. Somehow it seemed as though the whole room was moving to a beat and the light became warmer. It felt just like when Curtis picks his guitar up randomly and begins to play. (of course when Curtis plays the room, or campfire, gets even more full of energy in comparison) After a few loops in the vernissage, and some free wine and bread we invited our friends over to our apartment for a lovely night out on the town.
The Girls

The Wooho
There is a bar here called the “Wooho” it is most certainly not the best bar, but it has really cheap drinks. Tuesday is buy one get one free drinks, so we went into the cave like basement and made our own party, which wasn’t to hard with all of the American music playing. I still can not tell if the bar tenders really hate when we come into their bar, or really like it. In the end I guess I really don’t care, I am just grateful for cheap drinks, and great friends.
