Day 1- Paris with out plans

At Tulliers Gardens

Today was so SO long, we got to the hotel and thought about changing hotels because this one is so tiny, and very far from the center of Paris. We most certainly did not plan that part of our trip correctly. Nothing here is going the right way for us my phone doesn't work, my computer charger doesn't work, our bus passes are for the wrong area, and the toilet seat is cracked in our hotel room so my little tush gets pinched when I sit down. Sounds like a nightmare, I know, but I'm so excited to be here today that those things seem so small and fixable. After getting to the hotel we found out how to get to the center of Paris and got there as fast as possible. After arriving we went to a little Irish bar that had no one in it, sat down, and had a delicious, well needed glass of white wine.
Our first Legal Drinks
After wards we went to a little tiny Market and bought a 2-euro bottle of wine. We had passed the Louvre when wandering to the Irish pub so we went back there sat in the Tullieres Gardens and stared at the huge beautiful buildings, the pyramids, and the tippy top of the Eiffel tower. The Eiffel tower is what put us over the top, finally we’re in Paris.

Le Louvre
We had nothing planned we just got into Paris so we walked everywhere with a bottle of wine in hand taking in all of the sights. After sitting in the gardens, we wandered over to the Eiffel tower, crossing over the Seine River it was a long walk but all of the beautiful buildings and interesting people made it well worth it.

At the Eiffel tower I had my first French sandwich, a baguette with ham and cheese, best.sandwich.EVER! We also took a ride on the merry-go-round that is right next door. We were in a daze loving every moment.

At The Eiffel Tower
Our last stop of the day was the Statue of Liberty, it was small but worth seeing, I have now been to two statues of liberty J. After watching the sun set over the Eiffel Tower and seeing it twinkle we decided we had to start to head home. The busses and metros all stop by 1 so we needed to get back quickly. We got on a metro and felt confident that we would make it back with about a half hour of time left. That is until we realized we were on the wrong metro, going in the wrong direction. UH-OH. We jumped off at the next stop and we were able to take one more train that would take us about 4 stops closer to our hotel, we needed 20 stops. After walking around and realizing we were the only people in the metro stop except for the janitors, we decided we had to go get a cab. Avery expensive cab. But we made it home, and all is good, we had a great first day!

Bare with me and the pictures being in funny spots, still trying to get used to it.
